About the Project
How It Started
A Question of Identity…
As a model, my picture has been taken hundreds of times and I've been represented in dozens different ways. It's allowed me to see different sides of myself I had never even considered, but also, I've found it's easy to lose track of who you “actually” are amongst so much outside influence.
I found myself looking at these different photos and asking myself:
"How much of me is in these photos?
What’s real and what’s constructed?"
Reframed
From these questions I was inspired to create “Reframed” a collaborative collage project exploring the relationship between representation and identity.
How it Works
Models are tasked with picking 5-10 photos that show different sides of who they are. I prepare and print the images and meet them at the workshop where I have prepared a comfortable and intimate environment with all necessary materials. I lead them through the process, making sure they understand the intent of the project, and we explore their experiences in the industry, their feelings, and their identity.

Impact
This process offers participants a meaningful opportunity to reflect on how their careers, which for many began in adolescence, have played a role in shaping who they are today.
Each model that participated emphasized to me the strong, positive emotional impact that the project had on them.
